Stories so captivating, you'll forget to breathe.

Over the years, I've tried different resources to help my writing career, but after lots of trial and error I've settled on a few that really work for me.

If you're a writer and you're not sure where to start, these are some of my personal recommendations.

I earn a small affiliate fee on some of these services, so if you'd prefer not to buy through my affiliate link, you can always go directly through the site.

ALLi (The Alliance of Independent Authors) is a non-profit professional association for authors who self-publish.

Their alliance offers connection and collaboration, advice and education, advocacy and representation to writers who want to self-publish well.

Author Marketing Club is for the author who's struggling to figure out how to market their book. Their tools and training are designed for people who have ZERO experience with self-publishing or website development. Plus there's a neat review grabber tool that lets you find top reviewers easily.

I use Hostgator for my web hosting. It works really well with which looks and feels like right down to the easy dashboard layout and templates. I would recommend self hosting for anyone looking for website flexibility.

Canva is a free tool to help you design great looking promotional material or even a temporary book cover. It's really easy to use, and fun.

I use Mailchimp for all my newsletter needs. It's free for up to the first 2000 subscribers and the templates are so easy to use.

If you're looking for an editor, book cover designer, marketing or publicity help, Reedsy combines a number of vetted services together.

If you love my covers, here's my cover designer. They're amazing to work with and really reasonably priced. They do full book design now (cover and formatting) as well as web and blog design if you're in the market for either!
