I can feel Gabriel dying, and I don’t know how to save him.

I escaped Bloodland, but he didn’t. He’s the king’s prisoner, and our bond forces me to feel everything they do to him.

If I go back, I might not survive. If I don’t, he definitely won’t.

And it’s not just pain I feel through the bond. It’s changing me faster than I can control, turning me into something dangerous.

Saving Gabriel means returning to the place no one escapes, and facing what I’m becoming.

I know the cost: there may be nothing left of me to save.
